Mineola - (WALK) A Hicksville man is being held on $10,500 bail following his arraignment on several charges related to posing as a doctor to falsely obtain drugs including Oxycodone, said Nassau Police.
Adeel Riaz, 28, of Lenox Avenue, was arrested at his home Wednesday evening and arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead Thursday.
Riaz is charged with 16 counts of falsifying business records, nine counts of criminal impersonation and 15 counts of identity theft for allegedly calling pharmacies throughout Nassau County and requesting prescriptions for Oxycodone and Xanax.
Police did not say how many drugs Riaz obtained through his ruse. He is scheduled to return to court next week.
