Detectives Again Ask for Help to Solve May 2013 Hit-and-Run

Yaphank (WALK) - Seven months after a hit-and-run in Brentwood that put a person in the hospital, police are asking for help to find the car involved.

Police say a Nissan Sentra (pictured at left) got into a crash with another vehicle on May 11, 2013 just after 7 AM, at the corner of Suffolk Avenue and Bergen Street. The Sentra fled the scene without stopping.

A passenger in the other car suffered a fractured femur and had to be rushed to Southside Hospital.

The Sentra was described as silver with a North Carolina license plate. Police say it suffered front-end damage, including a missing bumper, and was last seen headed north on Bergen Street. The driver had dark skin and dark hair and may have been Hispanic, according to detectives.

Suffolk Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
